Attempts to kill Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky – Malam Muhmud Turi calls for mass rallies, prayers.

Following series of attempts on life of the Leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub Zakzaky (H) by the Nigerian security, Sheikh Muhammad Mahmoud Turi had issued a press statement, Monday. Below is the translated statement from Hausa to English. Attempts by Jonathan Government to Kill Leader of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub Zakzaky There had been series of attempts by Jonathan administration to assassinate the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, which recently intensified. There machinations is nothing short of achieving a selfish agenda. It would be recalled that, Jonathan administration had during the International Quds Day in Zaria killed 34 peaceful protesters and rendered over 100 injured. Out of those killed were three (3) biological sons of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky namely, Shaheed Ahmad Zakzaky, Shaheed Hameed Zakzaky and Shaheed Mahmud Zakzaky. Not satisfied with this atrocity, Jonathan is now blinded with full desperation to kill Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, by laying ambush on the Sheikh’s convoy whenever he goes or returns from the Ashura mourning currently taking place at the Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah, Zaria. Therefore, we decided on our part to take the following preliminary steps: 1. We call on Muslims in and outside Nigeria to know this evil intent and take appropriate steps to ensure it does not succeed. 2. Brothers and rest of Muslims should engage in fervent recommended supplications such as Jaushan Kabeer, Jaushan Sagheer, Du’a Alqamah, Du’a Faraj, etc. similarly, Qur’an should be wholly recited at least once in a week. 3. Mass rallies should be held this across cities and towns this Friday to protest and condemn this heinous and unpopular action. 4. Posters of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky would be raised during the rallies, in addition to distribution of specially tailored press statement that carries the written protest and condemnation of the assassination attempt.
